Welcome to the web site for Chappell's Champs.  We are proud to be a part of Corporate Landing Elementary.  Expect graded papers to be sent home on a bi-weekly basis, (every other Friday). If you would review the papers with the student that would be very beneficial.  Please return the signed papers back to school on the following Monday. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach your child.  I appreciate ALL your support.
 

           WELCOME to FOURTH GRADE!!!

 

We will begin the fourth grade reading the novel James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.  I have a used copy of the novel for each child to borrow.  While we will be reading the book in class, it is important that the student rereads the chapters at home that we have read in class.  This practice greatly improves comprehension skills.

 

Students should ALWAYS be in the process of reading an AR book checked out from our school library.

 

In Math class we will be learning geometry for our first unit.  The student should have the Math journal and the Student Reference book joined using a rubberband.  I make a BIG deal out of this because the Student Reference math book is an excellent resource if the child forgets how to do his/her homework.

Homework Information
Students SHOULD be writing down homework assignments Monday-Thursday.  PLEASE  "SPOT-CHECK" TO ASSURE THAT YOUR CHILD IS WRITING DOWN THE HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS.
 
PLEASE  ASSIST YOUR CHILD WITH THE MULTIPLICATION TABLES AS TIME ALLOWS...(in the car, in the grocery line while waiting to check-out, etc., etc.)
