Welcome to CLES's Art Department
The 07-08 school year is almost over and it was fantastic!  The last day for art is June 11, 2008.  Students will be taking home all of their artwork that has been on display around the school.  I hope everyone has a great summer break!  I will see you in July.

Art education at CLES presents an opportunity for students to develop higher levels of creativity, critical thinking, problem solving and self awareness.  Art offers unique creative experiences that build appreciation for different individuals & cultures.  Our Art Program integrates concepts, enduring understandings, skills, knowledge and creative activities. I will incorporate art history, art production, art criticism and aesthetics in all art projects this year.

Coming Up in Art Class

“A Greek Philosopher once said, ‘The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but the inward significance.’ I believe instruction in the visual arts enriches our youngsters by opening their minds, broadening their horizons, and providing inspiration when, at times, words simply fail to adequately convey meaning.”
– Governor Tim Kaine
