Welcome to room 215. I am looking forward to this school year. I team teach with Mrs. Harwin. I teach the language arts portion of the curriculum. This includes reading, writing, and word study (spelling). Mrs. Harwin teaches the children math, social studies, and science. I also am the inclusion teacher with Mrs. Brown and Ms. Elliott. I am very excited about working with you and your child!
Here are some important things to remember....
**Please check your child's planner each night for their homework. Each day your child will copy down their homework for language arts, math, and content. I will check to make sure the homework is copied correctly. Each night after you have checked the planner and your child's homework, please initial it. Your child's planner is also an excellent place to write me a note if you need to get in contact with me.
**Each week, we will start a new story. In addition to comprehension questions about the story, your child will be tested on vocbaulary words related to the story and a reading skill for the week. The best way to prepare for our weekly quizzes is to study your child's weekly story study guide.
**We will be sending home our weekly papers on Fridays in your child's Dolphin Folder. Please review the papers, sign the behavior sheet, and return the folder on Monday. You may keep all the papers to study for the SOL tests.
